Doncaster Rovers remain in the relegation zone after losing for the third time in a row.

The game started badly with Portsmouth striker Luke Varney nipping in behind the Doncaster defence to put the home side ahead inside three minutes.

Doncaster were back on level terms just short of the half hour when a well worked corner kick found Gillett on the edge of the area who fired home.

Portsmouth were back in front halfway through the second half when Dave Kitson made sure a David Norris effort crossed the line.

The game was all over with fifteen minutes remaining when Varney scored his second of the afternoon.

Doncaster remain in twenty-third place in the championship and they will be hoping to bounce back next weekend when they face another side at the wrong end of the table, Coventry City at the Keepmoat.
