Doncaster Rovers and AFC Wimbledon played out a dour goalless draw as the visitors ensured they would be playing in League One again next season with a point.

Neither side threatened an opening goal in the first half, as both goalkeepers were spectators.

Doncaster forced AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper George Long into a couple of saves in the second half, firstly keeping out a John Marquis header and then making a good save to deny Ben Whiteman from long-range.

Substitute Kwesi Appiah had the best chances for the visitors in the final 15 minutes of the game. Appiah saw one effort land on the roof of the net before having another effort deflected wide of a post.

Doncaster have now failed to score in their last four games and it is their fourth goalless draw in their last eleven games.

The curtain will come down on Doncaster’s season on Saturday when they welcome title-chasing Wigan Athletic to the Keepmoat Stadium with the visitors needing just a point to lift the League One title.
