Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders said he felt the performance against Southampton had been coming for a while.

Bottom of the table Doncaster stunned table toppers Southampton with a 1-0 win at the Keepmoat.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Saunders said, “It`s been coming, it`s been coming for a while.
“We`ve got some good players out there and it`s a great three points for us.”

Doncaster won the game thanks to a solitary goal from Billy Sharp on the hour.

The win moved Doncaster off the bottom of the table above Coventry City.

The defeat for Southampton, only their fourth of the season did not prove too costly with second placed West Ham also losing.
