Doncaster Rovers boss Sean O`Driscoll was relieved to finally see Rovers secure their Championship place with a home point against Leicester City.

Speaking on BBC Radio Sheffield, O`Driscoll said, ‘It’s about time to be honest.
‘We’ve been searching for an elusive win, still not got it but we’ve got the necessary point that we needed so I’m relieved.
‘I’m pleased with the performance, I thought we were nice and organised and disciplined against a talented Leicester team. It was a good effort from everybody.’

Rovers gained the point against Leicester thanks to a superb strike by striker Steve Brooker, his first for the club in two and a half years.

His goal gave Rovers the lead early in the second half, which was cancelled out by Yakubu with just under fifteen minutes remaining.

The result proved academic in the end with both Sheffield United and Scunthorpe United failing to record the wins they needed to keep within touching distance of Rovers.

O`Driscoll can now sit down over the summer and start to plan for Rovers fourth consecutive season in the Championship.
