Doncaster Rovers saw their eight game unbeaten run come to an end as they were beaten 3-1 by Bristol Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium.
John Marquis gave Doncaster the perfect start with a goal inside five minutes but strikes from Ryan Sweeney, Rory Gaffney and Ellis Harrison ensured the three points returned to Bristol.
Marquis put Doncaster ahead in the fourth minute when he steered home a Matty Blair cross to end his goal drought having not scored in the previous eleven games.
The afternoon began to turn for the worse when Doncaster lost another centre back through injury. Joe Wright suffered suspected broken ribs and he joins Andy Butler and Mathieu Baudry to pick up injuries in the past week.
Bristol levelled on 24 minutes when Sweeney had the easy task of finishing on the line after Harrison had headed the ball across goal.
Doncaster responded well before the break and Marquis as well as Tommy Rowe, Alfie Beestin and Ben Whiteman all missing chances to restore the lead.
Bristol started the second half brightly and Ian Lawlor had already made one good save to deny Stuart Sinclair when he was forced to pick the ball out of the back of their net. Gaffney ran onto another Harrison header to poke the ball home.
Matty Blair missed a great chance to equalise for Doncaster. Blair was found at the far post from a Rowe cross but he somehow fired wide with the goal at his mercy.
Doncaster once again had a number of penalty appeals turned down by the match officials and with them desperately searching for an equaliser in the final ten minutes, Harrison made the game safe for Bristol.
Harrison broke down the Doncaster right before firing a low shot past Lawlor.
