Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson was pleased with the performance despite seeing their unbeaten run come to an end.

Doncaster went down to a 3-1 defeat to Bristol Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium to see their eight match unbeaten run ended.

John Marquis had given Doncaster an early lead but goals from Ryan Sweeney, Rory Gaffney and Ellis Harrison ensured Bristol Rovers gained quick revenge for the Doncaster win between the two sides at the Memorial Stadium last month.

“A poor result but not a poor performance,” Ferguson told BBC Radio Sheffield.

“I thought some of our play was outstanding, brave and we took the ball in tight areas and we played the way I want the team to play.

“I was pleased with the players and not disappointed with the performance.”

The defeat sees Doncaster slip down to fourteenth in the League One table.
