Doncaster Rovers saw their five game unbeaten run come to a shuddering halt with a 4-1 home defeat at the hands of Coventry City.

Rovers never recovered after former loan player Franck Moussa fired Coventry ahead after just three minutes.

The divisions leading goalscorer David McGoldrick doubled the lead on 26 minutes when he headed home and he scored his second of the afternoon and his sixteenth of the season just short of the hour.

Chris Brown gave Rovers a glimmer of hope when he headed in after his initial effort had hit the bar but Coventry sealed an emphatic win when Adam Barton fired home in the final minute.

The defeat for Rovers cost them the chance to move to the top of League One and they dropped from second to fourth.

The win for Coventry was their first ever at Doncaster and they continue their resurgence under boss Mark Robins.
