Despite being held to a goalless draw by Watford at the Keepmoat, Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders was happy to see his side keep a rare clean sheet.

Rovers kept just their second clean sheet of the season in a game where both defences were on top and that was a pleasing aspect for Saunders who has seen his side concede eighteen goals in ten games since his arrival prior to yesterday.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Post, Saunders said, “That (the clean sheet) was the pleasing aspect for me because we have been giving away far too many silly goals recently.
“I was pleased with the way we reacted after losing at Barnsley last week because we didn`t play well there at all.
“But we came out and had a fight today and looked as if we wanted to win.”

In a game of few clear-cut chances, El Hadji Diouf and Billy Sharp had the best chances for Rovers but both failed to hit the target.

At the other end, Carl Ikeme produced a fine save to deny Mark Yeates.
