Doncaster Rovers are waiting on the return of an England under-19 international as they look to get a deal done with the player.

The England under-19 squad are currently away at the European Championships where they have reached the final and they play Portugal for the title later today.

Doncaster boss Darren Ferguson is keen to get his squad together for their return to League One this season but he has admitted, he has had to be patient as he waits for the competition to finish.

“He`s involved in the U19 tournament,” Ferguson told The Sheffield Star.

“He`s still there.

“I`m hopeful knowing, if not the end of this week, then the start of next.

“It`s been delayed because of that. If he`s away, he`s away.

“We appreciate that and hope to get an answer.”

Ferguson is still hoping to add three more players to his squad ahead of the new season having so far brought in four players this summer, following the arrivals of Niall Mason, Danny Andrew, Alex Kiwomya and Ben Whiteman.
