Doncaster Rovers have an illness bug sweeping through the Keepmoat Stadium.

A number of Doncaster players are struggling with the illness with Rodney Kongolo and Alfie Beestin both missing the clash with Rochdale on Friday night and others having to struggle through the game at this busy time of the season.

The bug forced manager Darren Ferguson to cancel training ahead of the trip to Peterborough United on Monday.

‘We’ve got a real illness going around the camp,’ Ferguson told BBC Radio Sheffield .

‘Beestin pulled out an hour before the game. May is ill. Mathieu Baudry is ill and was struggling to carry on at half time.

‘A few of the staff are feeling it.

‘Kongolo was ill on Tuesday and he managed to do an hour but he didn’t come in the following day.

‘We’ve got a bit of a bug going around so for the lads to produce that against Rochdale and get them all out there is excellent.

‘Beestin he looked terrible so he’s a doubt for Monday.”

Despite the bug, Doncaster beat Rochdale 2-0 on Friday to make it three wins from three games over the festive period.

Doncaster will finish their festive fixtures with a trip to Peterborough United on Monday.
