Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson was delighted with the win after seeing his side make it three wins from three games over the festive period.

Doncaster made it three wins and three clean sheets from their three games in the past week with a 2-0 win over Rochdale at the Keepmoat.

The good run has seen them pull away from the relegation zone and up to tenth place in League One and Ferguson says he is delighted with the week they have had.

‘It was a good win,’ Ferguson told BBC Radio Sheffield .

‘We did what we had to do.

‘It’s another clean sheet so I’m delighted with that. It’s three clean sheets on the bounce.

‘It was just about getting the win. It wasn’t very pretty. It was a real hard pitch to play on, it was hard in areas, especially the middle of the pitch.

‘But we did what we had to do and ground out another really good win.

‘I’m really delighted with the players and the week we’ve had couldn’t have gone any better really.

‘Three clean sheets, three wins and I don’t think there will be many teams that get three wins out of three over this period.

‘So I can’t be any happier with the effort and the commitment the players have shown.’

Doncaster won the game in the first half. An early strike from Ben Whiteman was followed by a strike from Alfie May.

The games continue to come thick and fast and Doncaster will finish off their busy festive period with a trip to Ferguson`s former club Peterborough United on Monday.
