On loan Burnley defender Tom Anderson has undergone surgery on a broken cheekbone.

The central defender was stretchered from the pitch on Saturday at Rotherham United following a clash with teammate Marko Marosi.

Anderson underwent surgery on Tuesday afternoon and he is expected to be out for around four to six weeks.

The 24-year-old, who was due to remain at the Keepmoat until the end of the season, has returned to his parent club.
