Doncaster Rovers forward Alfie Beestin is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Beestin was forced off in the final fifteen minutes of the South Yorkshire derby at Rotherham United on Saturday and scans have revealed that he has suffered ankle ligament damage.

It is a cruel blow for Beestin who has forced his way into the side in recent months and he is now set to be sidelined for six to eight weeks.

Beestin has made 24 appearances for Doncaster this season scoring twice.
