Doncaster Rovers rescued a point against Brighton and Hove Albion but it must be seen as another two points dropped as the games run out in their fight against relegation.

Rovers were once again the victims of their own poor defending as Craig Mackail-Smith got in behind the statuesque Rovers defence to put the visitors ahead in the first half.

El Hadji Diouf salvaged a point for Rovers with just eleven minutes remaining when he coolly slotted home a penalty after a handball in the Brighton area.

It was a very poor game, played on a very poor pitch, which made it hard for both teams to play football.

The two goals were the only efforts on target.

The result sees Rovers remain five points away from safety and they now face a crucial game at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.
