Keeper Joins For One Month

With keepers Andy Warrington, Jan Budtz and youth team keeper Lee Cockerham all injured, Dave Penney has signed Ben Smith until the end of August.

Rovers have been hit by injury in the keeper department, only first choice keeper Alan Blayney is fit to play at Carlisle.

Ben Smith, 19, was most recently with Stockport having been released by Newcastle on transfer deadline day last season, although was with Leeds and Middlesborough when he was younger.

Smith has yet to play a league game and with Budtz due back in a few weeks, Smith has signed on non contract terms until the end of the month.
