On loan defender, Jason Shackell is hoping to extend his stay at Doncaster Rovers.

Shackell on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers has enjoyed a successful spell at the club since joining in August and is due back at his parent club in January.

Speaking in the Sheffield Star, Shackell said, ‘If something can be sorted out with Wolves then I’m happy to extend my loan spell.

‘I don’t know what is actually happening at this moment in time. The gaffer said that he was going to speak to Wolves and then let me know what happened”.

The 26 year old as become a firm fans favourite and as made fifteen appearances for Rovers this season, he scored his first and only goal for the club so far in the 3-1 victory over Peterborough in October.

Shackell only has the prospect of reserve team football, if he returns to Wolves. Therefore, an extended stay at Rovers would probably please both clubs and player.
