Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders says Rovers still have a slim chance of championship survival after losing to Burnley on Monday.

Rovers went down to a 2-1 defeat at the Keepmoat and have now gone nine games without a win and just one win in their last seventeen games.

Speaking after the Burnley game, Saunders said, ‘We’re not going to give up on survival. We don’t need snookers yet but we’re not far off. We’ve got four games left, but we’ve still got a chance of staying in the Championship – a slight chance.’

Rovers are now eleven points from safety with just twelve left to play for after Bristol City claimed all three points in their relegation six pointer with Coventry City at Ashton Gate.

Portsmouth are next up for Rovers at the Keepmoat on Saturday and they will be relegated if they fail to claim all three points.

Relegation for Rovers would bring to an end four seasons in the championship since their promotion in 2008.
