Doncaster Rovers boss Sean O`Driscoll is grateful to Sunderland after the Premiership club have helped out with a large chunk of on loan striker David Healy`s wages.

Healy signed on loan from Sunderland for a month after an injury to leading goalscorer Billy Sharp ruled him out for around six weeks.

Since Healy`s arrival at the Keepmoat, he has scored twice in three games, with both turning out to be match winners against Millwall and Portsmouth.

Rovers have picked up seven points from nine since is arrival and have jumped back up the table into seventh place.

With Doncaster`s budget being much smaller than most Championship clubs, Sean O`Driscoll is grateful that Sunderland and Steve Bruce have done Rovers a huge favour by subsidising a large chunk of the strikers wages.

Rovers boss O`Driscoll speaking on the official website said, ‘Steve Bruce has done us a massive favour. He’s a Premier League player on Premier League wages. If we had to pay anything near what his salary is, he wouldn’t be here.’

O`Driscoll will be hoping that his new striker can keep up his good start for Rovers when they entertain third placed Swansea City at the Keepmoat on Saturday.
