Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson looks set to hand Craig Alcock a first league start since October in the clash against Bristol Rovers this weekend.

Alcock looked set to leave Doncaster this week but injuries to Andy Butler and Mathieu Baudry have forced Ferguson to call off the deal and keep him at the Keepmoat.

The former Sheffield United defender impressed after coming off the bench to replace Baudry in the midweek draw at Scunthorpe United

Fellow defender Luke McCullough is closing in on a return to the first team squad after coming through a second development game this week having been sidelined since the summer.

Alex Kiwomya made his first appearance for the development squad in midweek, having also missed the season so far, and he is still a couple of games away from for a place in the first team squad.

Issam Ben Khemis, Danny Andrew and Andy Williams are all on the sidelines through injury.

Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clare is hoping to add a couple of players to his squad before the transfer window closes next week but he is not expecting anyone to arrive in time for the trip to Doncaster.

James Clarke and Daniel Leadbitter remain on the sidelines for Bristol Rovers.
