Doncaster Rovers boss Paul Dickov says the result at Yeovil Town could have been so different had the taken their chances.

Rovers went down to a 1-0 defeat as former striker James Hayter scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot just short of the hour.

Jordan Bowery and Mark Duffy both had good chances to give Rovers the lead but they were made to pay when Hayter scored following a foul by James Husband in the penalty area.

Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, Dickov said, “If you don`t take your chances you don`t win. We created two or three great chances at 0-0 and if they go in, we would have won the game.”

Despite the disappointment of the defeat, Dickov remains confident that Rovers can stay clear of the bottom three despite the bottom three all winning on Saturday to claw Rovers back into the relegation dogfight. “Every defeat we have is disappointing; we have been on a good run and we know we are capable of scoring goals and picking up points and we still believe we are good enough to stay up,” Dickov continued.

Next up is a trip to Bournemouth next Saturday, who are just six-points above Rovers in the division.
