Caretaker-manager Rob Jones is still waiting for his first win as ten-man Doncaster Rovers crashed to a 3-1 defeat at Sheffield United.
Doncaster had to play for 50 minutes with just ten-men after defender Gary Mackenzie was shown a straight red card for a high boot on Craig Alcock.
Sheffield United were already ahead by the time Mackenzie saw red. Chris Basham fired them ahead on 17 minutes with a smart finish from close range after a good ball in from Alcock.
Doncaster levelled eight minutes later when Cameron Stewart scored his first goal for the club since joining them from Ipswich Town earlier this month. Stewart beat blades goalkeeper Mark Howard with a free-kick from 20-yards.
United went ahead for a second time on 35 minutes as Doncaster were once again undone down the right side. This time Connor Sammon was on hand to score from close range.
Mackenzie`s departure soon followed but despite the home sides numerical advantage, they seldom looked like scoring a third until a poor back pass by James Coppinger allowed former Doncaster favourite Billy Sharp to round the goalkeeper and slot home to make the game safe.
