Southend United and Doncaster Rovers battled out a goalless draw at Roots Hall.
The two sides came into the game separated by just two points and nothing could separate them on a poor surface.
In a game of few clear-cut chances, John Marquis and Alex Kiwomya had Doncaster`s best chances. Southend keeper Mark Oxley in one attack denied both during the first half with two good saves.
Joe Wright also sent an early header wide for Doncaster.
Southend had chances with Stephen McLaughlin and Michael Kightly both firing efforts wide.
Southend almost won the game but Marko Marosi did well to keep out a header from defender Michael Turner in the second half.
The draw leaves Doncaster in 15th place, five points above the relegation places.
