Despite some great batting by Lewis Guy, James Coppinger and Paul Green, Rovers lost by one run against a Doncaster Town XI.

All the squad attended the match and the non-playing team members enjoyed heckling the likes of Micky Walker.

In fact, their ironic slow clapping of Walker was much deserved, as Walker seemed to think he was playing a five day test, playing defensive shots at every opportunity and surely cost Rovers the game!

On a more serious note, Mickey got hit in the face by the ball, but refused to leave the crease and battled on.

The event was in aid of the charity Sincere Support. The Doncaster Town team included former Rover Steve Lister and actor Chris Walker. Chris Walker has featured in Coronation Street and, amongst other things, Playing the Field. However, he proved to be no bowler, with Paul Green knocking almost everything thrown at him for four.
