Doncaster Rovers boss Paul Dickov got the response he wanted after last weekend`s embarrassing defeat at Bournemouth as they beat Huddersfield Town 2-0 at the Keepmoat.

Rovers came into the game on the back of their 5-0 defeat at Bournemouth but in a tight opening quarter of the game, they never looked back after the returning Billy Sharp scored the opener.

Sharp returned to the side after serving a three-match suspension and he opened the scoring when he was on hand to score after Gabriel Tamas won his header in the area.

Any Rovers nerves were settled in the first ten minutes of the second half when David Cotterill, who probably only started because James Coppinger`s partner had gone into labour and was by her side, doubled the lead.

Cotterill fired home after being found in space by Mark Duffy.

It was a huge three points for Rovers who now welcome Watford to the Keepmoat on Tuesday night.
