Doncaster gained a point in a 1-1 draw at Preston but missed a great chance to take all three points when Billy Sharp saw a second half penalty saved.

Elliott Ward was the only change for Rovers from the weekend win at Bristol City, Ward came in, in place of Sam Hird in defence.

Martin Woods returned to the squad after being out since December and was named on the bench.

Rovers took the lead on the half hour when James Hayter scored following a corner.

Preston equalised just before half time when Coutts played a free kick into Mawene who crossed the ball for Mellor who had the easiest of tap ins.

Rovers missed a great chance to go back into the lead early in the second half after winning a penalty after a foul on Chambers by St Ledger.

Billy Sharp saw his placed penalty well saved by Andy Lonergan.

Another good point for Rovers that keeps them firmly in mid table.
