Rovers have today announced that the proposed transfer of Ricky Ravenhill to Chester City is off.

A statement on the Rovers official website reads

Rovers Director of Football Mickey Walker confirmed that after delays by Chester City in the signing of midfielder Ricky Ravenhill, the transfer had been called off. Ricky will be placed back on the list and all clubs will be notified.

Chester City had announced the signing of the Donny born midfielder nine days ago and had already given him the number 11 shirt.

Peterborough, Lincoln, Yeovil, Grimsby, Boston and Bournemouth are rumoured to be interested in the midfielder.

The popular hard working midfielder has made 159 appearances and scored 10 goals for him home town club. He also holds the Rovers club record for the most yellow cards.

Ricky joined Rovers on a free from Barnsley. He spent a loan spell at Napier City Rovers (New Zealand) during his time at Barnsley.
