Doncaster went down to a very late winner at Cardiff City after looking like earning a draw with a good second half performance.

Michael Chopra gave the hosts the lead inside the opening ten minutes when he shot across Sullivan and into the far corner.

Both Chopra and Bothroyd had chances to increase Cardiff`s lead in the first half.

Rovers felt they should have had a penalty after a foul on Shiels but the referee waved away their protests.

Rovers played much better in the second half and Coppinger almost brought the sides level inside the opening five minutes but his effort was turned over the bar.

The visitors eventually drew level when Gareth Roberts scored his second long range effort of the month.

Shiels thought he`d put Rovers in front but his effort was kept out on the line by Gerrard.

All Rovers hard work was undone in injury time when Bothroyd pounced on a fumble by Sullivan in the Rovers goal.
