Doncaster Rovers are reportedly one of a three clubs chasing experienced Romanian defender Gabriel Tamas.

The 30-year-old is also being linked with Premier League side West Ham United as well as fellow championship side Millwall but it is believed that Tamas is keen to sign for Rovers.

He has already played in England having spent three-years with Premier League side West Bromwich Albion, where he made 77 appearances.

Tamas is without a club after being released by Romanian side CFR Cluj in October for an off-field incident just weeks after joining them following his release by West Brom.

He has never been too far away from controversy in recent years. Last year he made the headlines in his home country for all the wrong reasons after being arrested for kicking a door in at an apartment block whilst drunk. It was made worse by the fact he was in Romania on international duty at the time.
