Doncaster Rovers are giving a trial to former Derby County midfielder James Bailey according to reports.

Championship side Derby County released the 25-year-old midfielder at the end of last season after he made just two appearances during the season.

Bailey came through the successful youth set up at Crewe Alexandra and he made his debut for them in a 4-0 home defeat to Rovers in 2007. He joined Derby in 2010 and he was a regular in the rams side in his first two seasons with the midlands club. In 2012, he joined Coventry City and he spent most of the season on loan at the Ricoh Arena where he made 37 appearances.

He returned to Derby but he struggled to break into the side as they challenged for promotion before being released in May.
