Doncaster Rovers went down 2-0 at Blackpool this afternoon as the seasiders keep up their late push for a play off spot.

Rovers welcomed back Paul Heffernan to the starting eleven after Rovers used a clause in his loan agreement with Bristol Rovers, to call him back from his loan spell in place of the injured Billy Sharp.

Heffernan himself had early claims for a penalty turned down when he looked to be brought down in the box but the referee booked him for diving.

DJ Campbell gave the home side the lead on 27 minutes in fortunate circumstances, James O`Connor tried to clear the ball but only succeeded in diverting it onto the post and Campbell was first to react.

Rovers best chances of the half fell to Heffernan and Emmanuel-Thomas but both saw their efforts saved by Gilks in the Blackpool goal.

Rovers best chance to force an equaliser fell to Hayter just past the hour but he hit the bar when well placed.

Blackpool made them pay soon after when Stephen Dobie killed the game off with their second goal.

Dobie curled a shot from the left hand side into the top corner of the net giving Sullivan no chance.

The win keeps Blackpool in the promotion hunt whilst Rovers slip down to eleventh place.
