Doncaster Rovers made it seven games without a win in League One as they went down to a 1-0 home defeat to Scunthorpe United.

Lee Novak scored the only goal of the game for the visitors in the tenth minute to continue Doncaster`s poor run and they are yet to win at home in League One this season.

Both sides struggled to create many clear-cut chances. Joe Wright and John Marquis went closest for Doncaster, who have now failed to score in four of their last five league games.

Wright saw his early header cleared off the line by Novak and Marquis saw an effort come back off the post in the second half in a spell that saw Doncaster have two penalty appeals turned down.

The defeat leaves Doncaster just two places outside of the relegation places at this early stage in the season.
