Dave Penney has admitted Rovers lack firepower after their topsy-turvy season continued.

Doncaster knocked Southend off the top of the league and then thumped five past Barnsley, but their lack of consistency returned as they went down by a goal against Walsall.

‘If we had taken our chances we would have won the game, obviously. The Walsall keeper sat on the ball about three times.

‘We needed to get the ball out of our feet and hit it with venom. With the chances we made here we should win the game.’
