Doncaster Rovers inconsistent form continued as they went down to a 3-0 defeat to Walsall at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Doncaster were looking to build on their midweek win against Portsmouth but three goals in the final 30 minutes for Walsall inflicted a heavy home defeat on Doncaster but it could have been so different had John Marquis not wasted a great opportunity to give them the lead on the stroke of half time. Tommy Rowe saw his low shot come back off the post and with the goal at the mercy of Marquis, he somehow managed to roll his effort agonisingly wide.

Erhun Oztumer was the chief tormented for the visitors as he scored twice in the space of four minutes as Doncaster gifted Walsall all three goals.

Joe Wright was caught trying to shepherd the ball out for the first goal by Tyler Roberts and he found Oztumer who waltzed through the Doncaster defence to fire home.

Four minutes later, a slip by Harry Toffolo in the middle of the pitch allowed Walsall to break and once again, Oztumer was found in space, and again he waltzed through before firing home from close range.

Kieron Morris added a third with ten minutes remaining when Rodney Kongolo gave the ball away in midfield allowing Walsall to break and the Doncaster defence was once again stretched as the ball eventually found Morris, who once again had the simple task of scoring for the visitors.
