Jordan Ball marked his first appearance for Rovers with a late goal to send the club into the third round of the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy.

Rovers won 1-0 against the reigning holders at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Ball scored with his first touch after coming off the bench to replace Robbie Blake with just seven minutes remaining.

David Cotterill found Ball from a corner and the youngster headed past Richard O`Donnell in the Chesterfield goal.
