Rovers entertain fellow League One side Crewe at the Keepmoat tonight with an under strengthed side.

Rovers have been hit by a cold virus which forced Paul Heffernan, Mark Wilson and Mark McCammon to miss Saturday’s match at Tranmere. Four other players who played in the game were also suffering with the bug. A number of players are not expected to recover in time for tonights Northern Final, and with Sean Thornton also a doubt with a shin injury, Rovers could well be down to the bare bones.

Not only that, but with the game coming only 48 hours since the defeat on the Wirral and Crewe not having played at the weekend, many think Crewe have a major advantage.

However, Rovers will come out fighting in front of the Sky cameras and if they can replicate the good football played at Gresty Road which took them into a 2-0 lead, there is every chance of making it to Cardiff. However, fans would feel a lot more comfortable if Rovers hadn’t thrown away the lead in the second half in the first leg, which sees the tie level at 3-3.

Can Rovers make it to the final at Cardiff? It’s all to play for at the Keepmoat tonight!

*The Keepmoat Stadium advises fans who have not already bought tickets for the game to arrive early at the ticket office to avoid long queues.
