Doncaster Rovers remain deep in relegation trouble after losing at Bristol City.

A five-minute spell in the first half proved costly for Doncaster with Bristol City scoring twice and Rovers being reduced to ten men.

Chris Wood opened the scoring for the home side on 26 minutes when he headed home unchallenged.

Five minutes later, Doncaster defender Habib Beye was shown a straight red card for a two-footed tackle on Carl Skuse.

From the resulting free kick, Kalifa Cisse headed home a second for Bristol.

Doncaster got a lifeline with fifteen minutes remaining when El Hadji Diouf headed home in what could be his last appearance for the club.

They almost snatched a late point when Billy Sharp forced David James into a good save.

The result sees Doncaster five points from safety and they must now prepare for a trip to inform Hull City in ten days` time.
