Doncaster Rovers youngster Evan Finnegan has received a call up for the Republic of Ireland under-19 squad.

It is an early birthday present for the fullback, who celebrates his 18th birthday next Monday.

Finnegan, who signed his first professional contract with Doncaster this summer, is in the squad for two friendlies with Norway next month.

The two games that are both being held in Ireland will take place on Tuesday 13th August & Thursday 15th August.

If Finnegan features, it will be the third level that he has represented Ireland at having already played for both the under-17 and 18 international sides.

Finnegan has already made his debut for Doncaster when he came off the bench in the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy at Crewe Alexandra in December.
