Doncaster Rovers midfielder Martin Woods is looking forward to leading the club by continuing to wear the captain`s armband.

Woods was handed the armband for the Sheffield United game after Adam Lockwood was injured in the previous midweek game against Swansea City.

With usual club captain already on the sidelines and now Lockwood likely to be missing for a while Woods is relishing the chance to continue. Speaking on the official website, Woods said “The gaffer pulled me aside last Friday and told me he wanted me to be captain. I was very happy.”

Woods has been an influential part of the Rovers midfield this season and as already chipped in with three goals from twelve starts.
