Two former Doncaster Rovers favourites have been released by their clubs.

Goalkeeper Andy Warrington, who helped Rovers win promotion from both the conference and Division Three in successive seasons earlier this century, is on his way out at Rotherham United after six years with the club.

Warrington made over 200 appearances for the millers, including 32 this season as Rotherham clinched promotion from League Two.

Defender Gareth Roberts is on his way out at Derby County. Roberts helped Rovers win the League One play-off final in 2008, making over 150 appearances in his four years at Doncaster before joining Derby in the summer of 2010.

Roberts made just over 100 appearances at Derby, including 31 this season. The 35-year-old is being released by Rams boss Nigel Clough, who said he had been a brilliant servant during his three years with the club.
