Doncaster Rovers striker Curtis Main is having a trial with League Two rivals Portsmouth.

Doncaster placed Main on the transfer list at the end of last season and he has joined up with the south coast club at the start of pre-season.

Main has struggled during his time at the Keepmoat following his arrival from Middlesbrough and he has scored just 11 goals in 58 appearances for the club.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at League One side Oldham Athletic where he scored four goals in 18 appearances.

Manager Darren Ferguson placed the 24-year-old on the transfer list at the end of last season with the striker having one-year remaining on his deal at Doncaster.
