Doncaster Rovers have signed striker Billy Sharp for a club record fee of £1.15 million from South Yorkshire neighbours Sheffield United.
Sharp enjoyed a successful season long loan at the Keepmoat last season scoring 15 goals in 35 games for the club and signs in a three-year deal.
The 24 year old scored in six games in a row during November and December, becoming the first player in a Rovers shirt to do so since Peter Kitchen in the 1976/77 season.
The run of form saw him also pick up the Fans PFA Championship player of the month award for December.
The deal smashes Rovers previous record transfer fee paid when they signed Matt Mills from Manchester City in 2008 for £300,000.
Sharp, who wore the number five shirt last season will now wear the number ten shirt.
