Doncaster Rovers will be without on loan defender Jason Shackell for up to four weeks after he required surgery on a hernia injury.

Shackell went under the surgeon`s knife on Saturday and will be missing for three to four weeks according to Rovers boss Sean O`Driscoll.

The 26 year old has become an important member of the Doncaster Rovers defence this season and is on loan from his parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers for the remainder of the season.

The central defender suffered the injury in Rovers FA Cup defeat at Derby County last Saturday.
