Doncaster Rovers went into the month of December just above the relegation zone but an inspired month from Billy Sharp sees the month end with the club contemplating the Play offs.
The month starts with some good news that the club are finally chosen for live coverage in the Championship by Sky.
The home game in February with Reading is chosen and is to be the one and only game involving Rovers to be shown live in the whole season.
Rovers bounce back from the heavy defeat at Nottingham Forest the previous week to record their first away win of the season.
After being let of early on by a glaring miss by Neil Danns, Rovers go on to complete an emphatic 3-0 win with goals from Billy Sharp, Martin Woods and James Hayter.
Rovers are quickly back in action and welcome local rivals Sheffield Wednesday to the Keepmoat.
Billy Sharp scores the only goal of the game to ensure another three points for Rovers and their first back-to-back wins of the season.
Rovers are at home again on the Saturday and make it three wins in a row with another 1-0 win, this time against Bristol City.
Once again, Billy Sharp is the goalscoring hero as he nets for the fifth game in a row.
Next up fro Rovers are Derby County at Pride Park, again they come away with three points with another goal for Billy Sharp and another clean sheet.
James Coppinger also scores late on to earn the side a 2-0 win.
Sharp`s goal means he has now scored in six games in a row and becomes the first player since Peter Kitchen achieved the feat in the 1976/77 season.
Rovers suffer their first defeat in five games when they go down to a late penalty by Clinton Morrison at Coventry City in a 1-0 defeat.
The penalty is Coventry`s second of the game after they had missed the chance to take the lead in the first half when Leon Best saw his spot kick rebound of the post.
Rovers final game of the year against Leicester City at the Keepmoat falls foul of the cold snap that is gripping Britain.
A tremendous end to the year for Rovers as they enjoy four wins from five games during the month which sees them climb fourteenth in the table just six points outside the play offs.
Next month we will be looking back at January when Rovers momentum is slowed down by the weather, as they have to wait until mid January before the players get back onto the pitch.
