Dean Saunders was disappointed with the defeat to Notts County in the FA Cup and also the fact it has knocked the momentum they had built at home in the last month.
Rovers went into the game at the Keepmoat on the back of three straight wins at home but they slipped to a 2-0 defeat against their League One opposition.
Speaking on Radio Sheffield, Saunders said, “I`m really disappointed, I wanted to do well in the cup and keep the momentum going at home.
“We have been unbeatable for quite a while now and I wanted to take that momentum into the next game against Cardiff. It`s not the result and we are out of the cup, it is just we have lost a bit of momentum.”
Rovers have beaten Southampton, Leicester City and Barnsley at home in their last three games but they looked a shadow of the side against County, who had beaten Barnsley on Monday.
They must now prepare for the game with Cardiff on Saturday and have a run of home games between now and the beginning of March.
Five of Rovers next eight games are at home and Saunders will be hoping the defeat to County can be put behind them as they continue their fight against relegation.
