Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders says he is looking forward to having James Coppinger back at the club.

Coppinger has spent the first half of the season on loan with championship side Nottingham Forest and his loan at the City Ground ends at the end of the year.

Speaking on the Doncaster Rovers official website , Saunders said,“James is coming back, he`s going to be our player and I`m looking forward to having him back. He might be available for the Sheffield United game on New Years Day but he will be available for all the games after that.

“He`s a class player, I had spoken to him already and told him that I was looking forward to having him back; he`s assured me he`s going to come back and try and help the club get promoted.”

The 31 year old has made just six appearances during his time at Forest.

Coppinger is Rovers longest serving player at the club having joined from Exeter City in 2004 and he has made almost 350 appearances for the club.
