Doncaster Rovers chairman John Ryan says the club will have a shortlist in place by Monday for the vacant manager`s position.
Rovers are looking for a new manager to lead them in the championship next season after caretaker boss Brian Flynn decided on a return to player development at the club.
Flynn led Rovers to the League One title after Dean Saunders left the club to join Wolves in January.
Ryan says the club have been sifting through the applicants and they will start interviews later next week.
Speaking in the Yorkshire Post , Ryan said, “We will have our shortlist by Monday and the interviews will start later that week and then hopefully, there will be an appointment.
“It`s a case of the sooner the better, really. But it depends who the guy is going to be and if he is in or out of work.
“We have already had some high-quality applicants and we will sift them down and then we will interview the best candidates and make our choice.”
Paul Dickov is still a firm favourite for the job with former boss Saunders also amongst the favourites after Wolves sacked him earlier this week following their relegation to League One.
