Doncaster Rovers have won their latest pre-season game at York City but they suffered more injury worries ahead of the new season.

Doncaster once again included trialist Blair Yule from Highland League club Cove Rangers and he was forced on early after Luke McCullough pulled up with an injury, another to the ever-growing injury list.

Doncaster went ahead on 21 minutes with a well-worked goal. John Marquis and Andy Williams linked up well to set up Tommy Rowe in plenty of space, who fired home.

Scott Fenwick equalised for York on 32 minutes when Doncaster failed to clear their lines and Fenwick was on hand to smash the ball home.

Doncaster went ahead for a second time on the night when Matty Blair scored his first goal for the club since joining from Mansfield Town earlier this summer. Blair firing home with a 25-yard shot.

Daniel Nti almost equalised for the hosts when he forced Ross Etheridge into a good save.

Williams almost sealed the game for Doncaster in the closing minutes but he was denied by a good save from Scott Flinders.

Connolly had a good chance for the home side in the final minute but he couldn`t beat Etheridge after getting in behind the Doncaster defence.

Doncaster finish their pre-season programme with a game against Coventry City at Nuneaton Borough on Friday night.
