Doncaster Rovers look likely to change their pre season plans this summer to give the Keepmoat pitch a rest ahead of the new season.

The over used pitch has come in for much criticism this season due to the fact its had hardly any grass on it since mid season. The worn out surface did not help Doncaster`s ‘keep it on the ground` style of football and the club have won as many games away since Christmas as they have at home.

Rovers are likely to play a lot more afternoon games against Premiership Youth sides during pre season to avoid unnecessary use of the Keepmoat Pitch and also saving on costs.

Rovers are likely to start arranging pre season games shortly after the season comes to a close this weekend.

Rovers are likely to stage just one game at the Keepmoat which will be a testimonial for Mickey Walker on August 1st.
