Doncaster Rovers are set to sign Preston North End defender Andy Boyle according to reports.

Doncaster Free Press The report that Doncaster have agreed a deal with Preston for the 26-year-old, who has featured five times for the Lilywhites this season.

Boyle has made 12 appearances for Preston since arriving from Irish side Dundalk in December 2016.

The defender will bolster manager Darren Ferguson`s options at the heart of the Doncaster defence after losing Andy Butler, Mathieu Baudry and Joe Wright to injury in the past ten days.

The January transfer window closes at 11pm this Wednesday.
