Doncaster Rovers are hoping to keep hold of striker David Healy at the end of his loan spell.
Healy is currently on loan from Premiership side Sunderland and as already scored two goals in three starts.
Rovers Assistant Manager Richard O`Kelly is hoping the club can sort something out with Sunderland when his loan runs out after the Barnsley game at the beginning of December. Speaking in the Doncaster Free Press, O`Kelly said, ‘David’s got two weeks left on his deal and then it’s in the hands of Sunderland. From our point of view we’d love to keep him.’
Earlier this week Rovers boss Sean O`Driscoll thanked the Premiership club for subsidising the player`s wages during his time at the Keepmoat and O`Kelly believes that could be the one stumbling block, ‘It might come down to finances in the end, though. I think we’ve been good for David Healy and he’s been good for us,’ he continued.
Since Healy`s arrival at the Keepmoat, he as helped the side gain seven points out of nine, with him scoring the winning goals against Millwall and Portsmouth.
The run of form as seen Rovers jump back up the table into seventh place and they will be hoping that he can continue his impressive start when they entertain third placed Swansea City on Saturday.
